Week 2 portfolio and market analysis-october 24th to october 28th

Week 1:

At the end of each week from week 1 to week 6 (by Sunday at Midnight CST), you are expected to provide a discussion of why the stock market behaved as it did during the week(October 24thth to 28th October 2022)  and how your StockTrak portfolio performed under these market conditions. For each entry, you can write it like a two-part (paragraph) blog post: part one why the stock market behaved as it did during the week(24Th to 28Th October); and part two how your portfolio performed under these market conditions.As we already done with week one we need to continue with Week 2 as same.

StocTrak: Its a play trading tool where you buy stocks funds with Dummy Money.Intially each student will be given 1000000$ and need to trade weekly until the end of the semester.

7)FLCEX-Mutal Bond-Invested in this mutual bond this week-I invested in this Mutual bond because its manadatory to invest in mutual bonds as per assignment.I found out FLCEX is best Mutual Bond.

1) Example 1:

This past week, the stock market actually saw a minor rebound given the negative trends over the past weeks. The NASDAQ, S&P 500, and Dow Jones all saw positive weeks, with the S&P 500 being EdwardJones.com reports that the increase in the S&P 500 is likely due to around 20% of S&P 500 companies reporting their 3rd quarter earnings, with many higher than expected. Although, until there is intervention to curb rising inflation, there is not likely to be any major rebounds that hold.

For my first few trades in StockTrak, I used some of the tips from the StockTrak assignments. I chose to invest in Nvidia, as I am very familiar with their products and know the constant positve feedback they recieve. Since I purchased my shares the price is up 3.19%. This could be due to the recent launch of their new 40 series graphics cards, or just standard market fluctuation. I also purchased a small amount of shares in Thor Industries, the company I was assigned for the pre-work assignment. Their stock is down 5.67% from when I purchased. Thor annouced they will be paying out their dividends soon, which caused the price to drop 45 cents as the company pays out 45 cents per share to its shareholders. I also chose to test the crypto currency market to expand my portfolio. I purchased some etherium, which has increased 3.63% since I purchased. This is more likely to be a long term investment, as the crypto market relies heavily on social media and major news to see quick increases or decreases.

Example 2:

When reviewing the the stock market from this past week 10/17/22 – 10/21/22 the first three days were showing a positvie increase with the three major markets. In the last two days all markets had a decline but when comparing all five days there was a positive percentage increase for Dow Jones, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq .The increase early in the week was largeley due to comapnies reporting out quarter earnings and many of the companies had shown a higher EPS than forecasted. A big impact to the market this week that caused a decline was the increase by federal reserve officials for the third time. 

As this was this the first week of class and I was learning how to use StockTrack I only bought bought a low volume of shares in the company I was assigned for the course which was Stryker Winnebago Industries, LLC and my employer Deere and company. For the first two day Stryker showed an increase then dropped on day three and had an increase the last two days but did not fully recover for the entire week. They had some big news this past week as quarter four earnings topped estimates and sales which was good but they also had a huge drop in travel trailer sales.Overall it was a good week for Deere and Company as their fourth quarter is coming to an end in a week and profing estimates are on the rise.
