Assignment Title:             Analog and Digital Comparison Report

Point Value:                       100 points

Assignment:   This paper has a small research component. Using resources available (i.e., Google, Bing, Yahoo, IUPUI Library, etc.) create a report that presents a review of analog technology and digital technology on the same device or architecture then, produce a summary comparison. You must include images of each (analog and digital) device. You must include a reference section that lists your sources.

Completing the Assignment: 

Your report must contain the following:

1.      Use MS Word (Any other file format will be returned with 0 points). Upload to Canvas        Assignment section.

2.      Use Times New Roman Font at 12 point style.    

3.     Cover page (with your name, title, class name, and date).

4.      Analog technology review description (minimum 1 – page double-spaced).

5.      Digital technology review description (minimum 1 – page double-spaced).

6.      Comparison of the two technologies (minimum 2 – page double-spaced).

7.      Reference page (your sources)

           Remember, if you do not cite your sources, you will be guilty of plagiarism and you will receive a failing grade for this assignment.

8.      Word count = no less than 950 words (not including text on the cover page or reference listings).

9. Upload your assignment to the Assignments Section of Canvas (instructions will be given in class).

Example:   Defazio_J.doc

Note: If you are a Junior or Senior in this class you must include a formal Reference Page with APA 6 style references for the authors and sources you cite.

This assignment will be graded on content, clarity in your writing, your ability to follow instructions, spelling and grammar.

Don’t forget to check your assignment for grammar and spelling.

1.               The report presents a comparison of each technology in a clear and meaningful way. The information is arranged in a logical manner as it relates to both technologies.

2.               The use of images are of the highest quality and are not pixilated (i.e., not blurry or unclear).

3.               The report follows the instructions.

4.               The report contains no spelling or grammatical errors.

5.              The report does not contain slang or profanity.

6.               Written in a clear academic style.

7.       Word count = no less than 950 words (not including text on the cover page or reference listings).

ABOVE AVERAGE:  83 –82 points

1.               The report mostly presents a comparison of each technology in a clear and meaningful way. The information is somewhat arranged in a logical manner as it relates to both technologies.

2.               The image and/or images quality are very good and are, for the most part, not pixilated (i.e., not blurry or unclear).

3.               The report closely follows the instructions with one or two errors as listed in the Completing the Assignment section.

4.               The report contains no more than 3 spelling or grammatical errors.

5.              The report does not contain slang or profanity.

6.              Written in a somewhat clear academic stlye.

6.               Demonstrated at least a 950 or more word count

SATISFACTORY: 70 – 82 points

1.               The report mostly presents a comparison of each technology in a clear and meaningful way however the reading of the report does not follow a logical flow. Statements are fragmented and do not deliver a clear report.

2.               The image and/or images quality is good to fair, and the images are either too small, or overly pixilated (i.e., not blurry or unclear) for this assignment.

3.               The report closely follows the instructions with more than two errors as listed in the Completing the Assignment section.

4.               The report contains more than 3 and less than 5 spelling or grammatical errors and is not written well as an academic paper.

5.              The report does not contain slang or profanity.

6.               Writing style is not academic but would suffice as an informal paper at the academic level.

6.               Word count falls below the required amount for this assignment.

POOR: 69 – 0 points

1.               The report does not produce a valid comparison of each technology. The report is difficult to follow and does not follow a logical flow. Statements are fragmented and do not deliver a clear report.

2.               The image and/or images quality are low resolution and are pixilated (i.e., not blurry or unclear) for this assignment.

3.               The report did not follow the structure as listed in the Completing the Assignment section.

4.               The report contains more than 5 spelling or grammatical errors.
