What you will create
You will create a project proposal that will describe your planned exhibit in detail, from the setting and decor to the individual artifacts you have chosen. Step 1: First of all, before you nail down what will go into your exhibit, consider a THEME for your event. Here are some ideas for themes but use any theme that works for you and your chosen artifacts:

Family life
Ideals of beauty
Prominent values
Instruments of war or military tactics
Powerful leaders
Laws – rules, violations, strange punishments, etc.
Religion, gods, worship rituals
Death rituals
Epic heroes
Amazing engineering
Ancient medicine
Step 2: Next, pick out six of your favorite items from our course content that represent your chosen theme. Choose at least one from each of the following (you may choose more if you like):

Prehistory-Mesopotamia-Ancient Egypt
Ancient Greece
Ancient Rome
World Religions
The Middle Ages
The Renaissance
You should have a total of at least six, though you may have more if you like.

For an Essay: Be sure to write at least 500 words. Be sure to include photos of your exhibit ideas.

Step 4: Create essay. Whichever format you chose, you must include all of the following:

Give your exhibit proposal a title that works for your exhibit and reflects the central theme that ties all of your artifacts together (for example, “Ideals of Beauty through the Ages”).
Explain why your exhibit is important for people to see and why it would be good for your community.
Describe the location, overall layout, and decor of your exhibit.
Present each item that will be in your exhibit:
Provide a picture of each item you intend to exhibit.
Tell the age, origin, culture, meaning, and significance of each item.
Conclude with a final argument about why the city council should approve your proposal. Re-emphasize the cultural importance of your exhibit’s central theme. Explain why your exhibit will bring great value to the community and be something that everyone will want to see.
Make your Works Cited page a separate page at the end (see below).
