Instructions for Diagnosis Delivery

1. Choosing a topic

Do some preliminary research using your textbooks and other resources that you have access to BEFORE you decide on a topic that you would like to work on. The options for topics are listed below.

3. What is the purpose of this assignment?
   1. The purpose of Part 1 is to demonstrate your understanding of the basic anatomy and physiology (A&P) underlying your chosen topic. As this course focuses on NORMAL A&P, you will be asked to elaborate more on that rather than on the clinical condition. See the other documents available on this.
   2. The purpose of Part 2 is to use your creativity when interacting with an aspect of the public. You will use the information that you submitted (and the feedback that you received) to formulate this.

4. Do I have to use the template given for Part 1? It will not be marked otherwise.

5. Can I work alone or do I have to work in a group for the Assignments?

You can either work alone or groups of two or three.  It is assumed that the other students in the same group know that you will be working with them.  Do not assume that the other students want to work with you just because you signed up in the same group.  It is your responsibility to check that they are happy to work with you BEFORE you sign up.  Everyone in the group will be assigned the same mark.

If you want to change groups and or work on another topic,

• You need to do so at least 7 days before the assignment is due
• You need to notify the other students in your group (if applicable) that you want to change groups
• You need to notify and receive approval from Dr. Elita Partosoedarso before you begin work in your new group/topic

6. How do I sign up for a group?
   1. Go to the course Canvas site and click on the “People” tab on the left
   2. At the top of that page, click on “Group” and go down the list.
   3. Do NOT sign up for a group if it has “(FULL)” next to the group name, regardless of how many people are already in that group.
   4. Make sure that you have signed up BEFORE you start the.
   5. Each student in the same group has to sign up individually to the same group
   6. Once you (and your group member(s), if you are working with other students), have signed up for a group, email Dr. Elita Partosoedarso. I will add the word “(FULL)” so that nobody else will sign up for your group.

• If you have signed up for the wrong group, you can move yourself into another group. Please make sure that you let both people in your former group and those in your new group know of this change.

7. When will I get my marks for this assignment?

All marks will be released on November 20, regardless of when your presentation was done.

8. What else should I know?

If a student misses a set assignment deadline without a legitimate reason or does not provide the proper documentation s/he will be penalized 10% per calendar day (Saturday and Sunday are included) and the piece of work will not be accepted after the third day.

If a student cannot complete a piece of academic work for any reason, it MUST be discussed with the course professor at least 2 days BEFORE s/he is scheduled to write, or submit, the piece of work. The course professor will make a decision on a case by case basis.
