Preparing the Assignment

1. Create your poster using the 40″ x 60″ Professional Poster Template located in the Resources page in Canvas.
   1. Utilizing the DNP poster that was developed and graded in NR 707 to finalize your poster presentation.
   2. Notice that the textboxes are created with the required headings. The font, font size, and headers are selected. The poster title is 72-font. Name and credentials are 42-font. The headings are 32-font and can be moved around to allow more space for a section or to allow insertion of a picture or a chart. The text is 28-font but can be 24 if needed in the graphs or charts.
   3. The poster includes all required components, arranged in logical manner. Title, author and affiliations are clear. Template headings are used (Background, Clinical Question, Method, Results, Conclusions, Implications, and References). Write succinctly so that the information is complete, and readers understand, while also providing “white space” between sections.
2. Insert content into the textboxes. Content is well-developed, professional, and completed with substantial information explaining the background, clinical question, method, results, conclusion, implications and references.
   1. Background: Be brief and offer strong evidence-based statements for the significance or prevalence or incidence of the practice problem at the national, state and local levels with citation(s). Add the main purpose of aim or objective for your project (developed and graded in NR 707).
   2. Clinical Question: This comes from your NR702 DNP proposal i.e. “Will the implementation of an evidence-based sepsis bundle in a medical ICU decrease sepsis incidence within 12-16 weeks (developed and graded in NR 707)?
   3. Method: Briefly state these elements in bullet points: The translation science model, setting, population, intervention (cite author if applicable), outcome, data collection (cite author if applicable), data analysis- which is descriptive statistics with graph illustrations, and timeframe of implementation (developed and graded in NR 707).
   4. Results: Describe the major findings in the context of the overall purpose of the project. Present the statistical analyses of your primary outcome and process measures. There should be a clear relationship between the problems that drove the project and the findings presented.
   5. Conclusion: Briefly describe the contribution your practice project has made to the body of scientific knowledge on your topic and how this improves nursing practice.
   6. Implications for Nursing and Healthcare: Briefly indicate what is now known regarding nursing practice when your results and results from prior literature are considered together.
   7. References: Add references for the citations in the poster. Use correct APA formatting for each reference and each citation.
3. Save the poster as a PowerPoint file which will end as .ppt or pptx.
4. APA format is required for citations and references.
5. Follow the directions and grading criteria below closely. Any questions about this assignment should be directed to the course faculty.
   1. Layout and Organization
      1. Includes all required components, arranged in logical manner.
      2. Title, author and affiliations are clearly evident.
      3. Template headings are used (Background, Clinical Question, Method, Results, Conclusions, Implications, and References).
      4. Write succinctly so that the information is complete, and readers understand while also providing “white space” between sections.
      5. There is an obvious sequence to the display of information.
      6. Read the poster from another person’s point of view. Does the information make sense and flow logically?
   2. Poster Content is focused on DNP Evidence-Based Practice Chance Project
      1. Content is well-developed, professional, and complete.
      2. The background, clinical question, method, results, conclusion, implications and references sections are completed with substantial information.
      3. Citations are used in the background section, the method section (for the intervention or the data collection tool), and other sections as needed to give credit to published authors.
6. The poster should be educational for others.
   1. Use of Scientific evidence
      1. Appropriate evidence is included in the background section and other sections as needed to support the content and give credit to authors.
      2. The poster provides scientific evidence related to DNP project.
      3. Three (3) research articles (single or systematic reviews) and/or government websites are cited and included in the references.
      4. References and citations are in correct APA format.
   2. Visual Presentation
      1. Presentation is professional and there is space between sections.
      2. No overcrowding with words crammed in every category.
      3. Colors and graphics are professional. No spelling, punctuation, or word usage errors.
   3. Font size and font type are legible (recommended is 72 for poster title, 42 for name and credentials, 32 for headers, and 24-28 for text).

For this assignment, you will develop a Poster presentation using the poster template you began in NR707. You are required to submit the poster by Sunday of Week 5 at 11:59 p.m. MST. This assignment will be designated as complete or incomplete with zero points assigned. Your faculty will review your poster and make recommendations for revisions, which will be due by Sunday of Week 6 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Your formal presentation will take place in Week 7, at which time your grade will be placed in the Gradebook.
