Introduction (kindly elaborate)
In order to understand how affordances of digital spaces shape social
movements in the 21st century, I will first highlight the emergence of digitally
networked movements in the last decade (from 2010 onwards). Additionally, I
will describe the changing dynamics and role played by digital media –
transforming from an alternative medium to a new mainstream medium.
Lastly, I will highlight as well as challenge the discourse around technological
determinism.
