• You have to compare two specific hotels from the same service standard (eg. 3-star or 4-star or 5-star)   – one from Accor and one from Marriot Bonvoy chain, located in the same city.
  As a future hospitality specialist and also after finishing this subject you should be aware of the general standards followed by different brands.
• Please remember bout in-text and reference list which must adhere Kaplan Harvard Referencing Style. Always provide data base or link where did you find your information. And also, very simple error that can be avoided – write when you viewed the page.

• ROOM RATES
  This is related to the revenue workshop – revenue management.
  If you wish to compare specific rates over specific dates use the direct websites (homepage of each hotel you have chosen from Accor and Marriott Bonvoy brands) as the rates will be more accurate; Trivago, Expedia.com, com or any other third-party show rates which are affected by commission, special contracts, discounts etc. In this part you can compare rates from Australian market.
  You can also provide the price gap for each hotel over the same period of time, such as: Christmas, NYE, public holidays, weekends, weekdays etc. It is your choice which one you wish to compare.
• REVENUE STREAMS
  What are the main streams of the revenue for this hotel? For example: for resort type hotel it may be incentive groups and conferencing during the low season, food and beverage related revenue for other, for some can be casinos. After researching facilities and services for the particular hotel you should easily identify the main revenue streams.
• PROVIDED FACILITIES AND SERVICES
  They are physical aspects of the hotels (such as: swimming pool, spa, car-park etc.) and all services available (valet service, Room Service etc.) in the hotel. Please focus on highlighting unique services and facilities. Please try to find them.  You can mention that in your summary and underline information about some exceptions you have found.
• HOUSEKEEPING FUNCTIONS
  Please review workshop slides from that topic – different functions of housekeeping – see which one you can apply;  a provision of such services and its details are usually listed under room inclusions (either corporate or booking sites). This may not specifically apply to the selected hotels, but it is not that difficult to find out whether or not a hotel room rate includes laundry facilities. In luxury hotels, all rooms will even have an iron and iron board. Some hotels, also opt-out for the inbuilt steaming cabinet. This requires you to do more research.
  If you find a structure of the housekeeping department in this particular hotel it will be beneficial.
• FOOD AND BEVERAGE
  All F&B outlets available in the hotel. Please research the exact names, characteristics of them (for example: Italian lunch restaurant, Hawaiian night bar)
• OTHER SUPPLEMENTARY SERVICES
  how this hotel  is different from others, “WOW” factors, Unique Points of Sale
• a 250-word statement that succinctly outlines the extent in which both of the chosen accommodation providers differ – highlight differences between hotels, what is unique about each of the hotels etc. This part needs to summaries your findings.
