Additional Comments:

  • Students are encouraged to use the Font, spacing, word count, etc. indicated in the journal guidelines.  Keep in mind that most journals prefer a brief manuscript typically somewhere between 8-12 pages. This should not be a large document.  Students should not copy and paste from their capstone or course assignments.
  • Use of tables or figures will be at the student’s discretion and must be according to journal guidelines. Typically, these take up a large portion of your allotted text. However, it is often a clearer way to disseminate a large amount of information. Use of more than one table is not recommended.
  • Be sure to thoroughly review prior articles of the selected journal to see how previous manuscripts involving Evidence-Based Practice projects were written and organized. This will help increase chances for acceptance and publication.
  • The purpose of suggesting students follow the author guidelines of their selected journal now is so that they have a manuscript draft already started for eventual submission to the journal.
  • If students choose to not use the style required by the journal (e.g. MLA, AMA), they must submit their manuscript using correct APA
  • Use of research terms and the describing of the EBP project as a study will not be accepted. This would be falsifying work and would be considered an ethical violation. Do not select a journal that only publishes original research.
  • This assignment is not as much about what students are writing about, but about how students are writing it. Students not writing this in a professional manuscript style will not be successful in this assignment. Students cannot cut corners by copying pasting from their academic assignments.
