Leading Indicators and Industry Examples

  1. Using the text linked in Module 5, each student will select one chapter to summarize for the application assignment (1 point each) and will use the case study in the chapter to identify leading indicators that led to the innovation (1 point each). Remember that for food truck example, the leading indicators were the weather forecast, location, hours of operation, and change in the recipe to meet the customer demand.
  2.  Find a chapter that interests you( The New Technology Elite: How Great Companies Optimize Both Technology Consumption and Production)
  3. Sign up with your name in the student name slot on the google doc below. Only one person per chapter.
  4. Stretch assignment. This part requires critical thinking. Identify one “job” and apply the Jobs to Be Done Theory to the job using an innovation map. The innovation map for this assignment is only asking for four parts drawn from the eight in the course materials. Each item you add to your map is worth 1 point. See the validating questions for mapping the customer job.

Examples include: What are the most central tasks that must be accomplished in getting the job done? What must be located? What must be prepared?

  1. Your submission for the investigation assignment (5 points) and application assignment (10 points) will be the same Google doc url. Each student will submit the same URL. This is a shared document, but you should only add to your own chapter assignment. You can submit the link to your specific chapter, but it is not necessary.
