Using the peer/learner/self-evaluations collected within the profile of evidence as the basis for the assignment to critically reflect on my personal qualities as a teacher. Link the discussion to relevant literature around teaching styles and qualities necessary within healthcare teaching.

Why and how we can reflect on our teaching ? The answer to this question needs to be critically discuss in the introduction (peer evaluation, learner evaluation, self evaluation; why – to improve standards the standards and quality of healthcare education, to ensure learners needs are being met, to ensure I meet professional accountability requirements, to meet CDP requirements, to do the best we can; Reflection – tend to be utilised when looking at a specific incidence or occurrence in depth, involves returning to experience, attending to feelings and evaluating the experience – Kolb’s (1970) reflective learning cycle).
Peer observation of teaching – Consider the advantages and disadvantages of this type of evaluation from the literature and bring it into your essay.

What non verbal cues do you use in my teaching? ‘ Look at the video you have done and evaluate how effective your non verbal communication is to the students. Look at the literature around this topic and discuss it in your essay’. In the video of my teaching session I have an open body posture, use hand gestures and try to have an eye contact to engage students, I effectively use the space at the front of the class to move around and keep the attention of all learners.
